Looking Ahead: The Future of Tax Returns and eCAR Requests Using the oNETT System
In accordance with Republic Act (RA) No. 11032, also known as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018, government agencies now use technology to improve accessibility for the general public and streamline processes. Consistent with the law, the BIR’s journey toward digital transformation has now advanced with the implementation of the eONETT System through the issuance of Revenue Memorandum Order (RMO) No. 07-2023.
With this issuance, taxpayers can file their oNETT related tax returns and request an eCAR via the eONETT system without the need to go to the BIR. In line with the RMO, the BIR issued Revenue Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 56-2023 to encourage taxpayers to use the eONETT system in the filing and payment of oNETT related returns and taxes. Please be reminded that taxpayers who intend to transact their eCAR through the eONETT system will be required to register and sign up for an account.
The eONETT is very promising as it aims to deliver fast, accessible, and more convenient services to taxpayers. Thus, taxpayers should utilize this platform.
